Who We Are

Edge Community Builders was founded by Seattle-raised partners Evan Chan, Donald “Don” Mar, and Joel Ing, who bring decades of experience in construction, development, and project management. Since the mid-1980s, they have built and managed mixed-use and residential housing projects throughout the Puget Sound region. As community builders, Edge Community Builders is dedicated to creating high-quality developments that strengthen neighborhoods and support sustainable growth for generations to come.
Our vision is to create and strengthen communities by building spaces that serve social needs. By building and revitalizing places where people can live, connect, and gather, we help local communities flourish. Our community-focused projects feature timeless designs that integrate seamlessly into existing neighborhoods.
Edge’s commitment to the region is reflected in our work building both affordable and market-rate housing, as we believe thriving communities should support a diversity of incomes and residents. Our portfolio includes market-rate housing, affordable rental and homeownership opportunities, cultural centers, childcare facilities, and commercial office buildings.
The principals of Edge are dedicated to strengthening the communities they serve through volunteerism and civic engagement. They actively contribute their time and expertise by serving on the boards of local organizations and supporting community initiatives that create lasting positive impact.
